Andres Uibo - Organ
Andres Uibo graduated from the Tallinn Conservatory under the direction of Professor Hugo Lepnurm and received additional organ education at the Lübeck University of Music, Germany, under the guidance of Professor Hans Gebhard.
He has been chief organist for the St. Nicholas Museum-Concert Hall since 1981 and professor of organ music in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre since 1994. During the period 1997 – 2009 Andres Uibo worked as a producer in the National Concert Agency, “Eesti Kontsert”. |
Under his direction, a number of prestigious music festivals, such as the Tallinn International Organ Festival ( from 1987), Suure-Jaani Music Festival ( from 1998) and also the Tallinn J. S. Bach Music Festival (2012) have been innovated. Andres serves as artistic director for all the previously mentioned festivals. Under his direction a number of historic organs in Estonia have been restored and new ones built.
As a composer, Andres Uibo has written works for choir, various instruments, organ and symphony orchestras. His compositions have been performed in different prominent festivals and concerts throughout Europe, Russia, Asia and America.
