frances catherine farrugia
Frances Catherine Farrugia studied singing with the Maltese soprano Antoinette Miggiani, took masterclasses with Soprano Mirella Freni and is today under the coaching of Soprano Patrizia Morandini, in Florence, Italy.
She made her operatic debut singing the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica with FlorenceOpera in 2010. Amongst the roles she has performed in Italy are Mimi (La bohème), Lola (Cavalleria Rusitcana) and Giorgietta (Il Tabarro) as part of the Francigena International Arts Festival.
Locally she has performed as soloist in sacred works including Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Gounod’s Messe de St. Cecile and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. In 2011 she premiered the Oratorio Bukkett b’Mitt Warda lil Santa Maria by Mro. David Agius. In 2006 she sang at Westminster Cathedral in honour of Malta day.
