Alfred Fenech started his musical studies with his father Saviour. He switched to the oboe and continued his studies at Johann Strauss School of Music with Orazio Cachia, Pierre Grech, Noel Beck and later with John McDonough. He holds an ATCL Diploma with Distinction and has attended a number of Master Classes and Courses. Alfred’s debut as soloist was with the Johann Strauss School of Music Senior Orchestra, performing Vivaldi’s double oboe concerto in D minor. He has since performed various solo recitals and concertos as a soloist and in various chamber groups, covering repertoire ranging from Baroque to Contemporary music. Alfred has been a permanent part-time member of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for the last fifteen years.
