Giacomo Benedetti - OrganGiacomo Benedetti has studied piano with Rosa Scarlino, harpsichord with Annaberta Conti and Alfonso Fedi, basso continuo with Andrea Perugi and Organ and Organ Composition with Giovanni Clavorà Braulin at the conservatory “Lorenzo Cherubini” of Florence obtaining his specialisation degree cum laude.
Benedetti attended masterclasses in Italy and abroad, with well known organists such as: Gianluca Libertucci, Matteo Imbruno, Gustav Leonhardt, Celestino Dionsi, Cristophe Rousset, Ton Koopman, Liuwe Tamminga, Wolfang Zerer, Anton Pauw, and Michel Bouvard. He worked in the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, in the Church of Orsanmichele, in Florence’s municipality, in San Marco’s Church, in Santo Spirito, and currently he is organist in San Miniato al Monte Basilica and Santa Felicita Church a Ponte Vecchio, Florence. |
Giacomo works in many musical associations in which he often performs as piano accompanist with singers and various musicians, harpsichord soloist and accompanist, for example in the theatre “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino”, where he constantly collaborates with the ancient music department.
Currently he is harpsichord accompanist for the Florence Conservatory. Benedetti took part in many organ and piano competitions winning first prizes and placements. He has recorded CDs and DVDs and often performs concerts as Organist, Pianist, Harpsichordist and Choir Director in Italy and in various nations such as Japan, Netherlands, United States of America, Mexico, Finland and Germany.
