Franco Cefai - OrganFranco Cefai started showed passion to the piano and music from his first days. At the age of 4 he started learning the piano with his grandfather Mro. Joseph Mallia who at that time was the Maestro di Cappella of the Żebbuġ Local Village. He continued his studies with London College of Music, ABRSM and Trinity College London where he obtained all the grades both in theory and in practice in piano forte and Associate Diploma.

Franco showed his passion to music, especially to sacred music during all time of the years where he animated on the organ during masses, funerals and accompanied choirs for functions. He continued piano studies under the tuition of Mro. Stephen Attard and his theory lessons under Mro. Joseph Grech. In 2011 he started a degree in Music and education at the University of Malta where he succeeded this degree with honours. Later, Franco was appointed Maestro di Cappella of the Żebbuġ parish – being the successor of his Grandfather Mro. Joseph Mallia whom also was the successor of his father Mro. Antonio Mallia.
Apart from conductor and music director, Franco is also a composer and his music is performed by the two local choirs. Amongst his latest works is Missa Assumpta Est Maria – a whole mass for orchestra and SATB setting, performed at the Feast of the Żebbuġ Parish. In 2015 he was appointed Assistant Director with the Żebbuġ Band – Soċjeta Filarmonika l-Banda Santa Marija. Despite the busy life as a Music Educator in state schools, he seeks to continue his studies and passion for the Organ where he last year he successfully followed and currently is following Masterclasses and courses with the Royal College of Organists in London under the tuition of Anne Thomas Marsdon and Catherine Ennis..
