Petr Ilyash - ViolinPetr Ilyash was born in 1977. A native of Saint-Petersburg, Russia, he began his violin studies at age of five. Graduated from the St.Petersburg State Conservatory in 2002.
While a student at the Conservatory, Petr was the invited as concertmaster of the Novgorod Philharmonic and a soloist of the Union of Composers of Saint-Petersburg. In St.Petersburg, he also was active in chamber ensembles including "The Music of St.Petersburg" (principal violin). In 2005, Petr Ilyash received his Artist's Diploma as violinist in Ensemble Peterhof, Resident Chamber Ensemble of the University of Northern Iowa. He then continued his education at the Doctoral program under prof. Dmitry Berlinsky at Michigan State University. He has been a participant of a number of international festivals including the Fjord Cadenza Festival in Norway, the "Et In terra Pax" Festival in Vienna, Music Spring Festival in St. Petersburg etc. As a soloist and ensemble player he has performed in Russia, Sweden, Norway, USA, Great Britan, Finland, Germany, Estonia, Latvia. In 2007, was invited as a music consultant by the "Thema Production" studio, with which he recorded a soundtrack for the movie "In Transit" directed by Tom Roberts. |
In 2017, Petr Ilyash has won first prize in the "Saint-Petersburg Assemble of Arts" international competition, professional classification.
